We've had a busy week (or has it been two weeks already?) since returning from our month-long trip to Natchez for Fall Pilgrimage. Max has made leaps and bounds (literally), I've gotten a few more paintings finished as we finally set up an "artspace" for me in our apt in Shreveport, Marcus went to the ER this time for an allergic reaction to his Halloween costume, and we lost our precious camera. So, all of our pics as Bonnie and Clyde with Babyface Nelson are no more. Quite sad. I do have a couple of crummy pics taken with my blackberry of just Max and me... and hopefully a friend got a picture of the three of us at a Halloween party we went to on Friday. Also, I'm going to put up LOST CAMERA flyers in our neighborhood today. Maybe, just maybe, a good little trick-or-treater picked it up in hopes of finding the owner? Alas, these are the last pics at Texada in Natchez that I have of Max's latest developments:
Now, Max is pulling up and letting go. His wobbly little legs don't hold him up for very long once he lets go, but he has gone from falling precisely on his head to buckling his knees with arms outstretched in a matter of a couple of days. Thank goodness! I think he fell 5 times in one day right on his noggin. Marcus and I were seriously considering finding our unfortunate falling child a helmet. A funny little thing he does when he's falling now is cry out- and then when he ALMOST falls- he cries out again. We think that the lesson has been learned that falling hurts and is going to hurt. Before, he would just fall happily, like an exciting roller coaster ride, right up until the BONK!
My artspace is in our dining room which is central to our little apt. It's perfect for my creative juices to be piqued but somewhat annoying to Marcus. I am doing my best to keep it organized in a way that it doesn't look a mess to outsiders (and Marcus) and stays unattractive to curious Max. I finished the photo/painting below on Friday. It's one of my favorites so far.
Hoping to get an early birthday and Christmas present combo of a new camera if the old one doesn't get returned. I'm quite sad to not have pics of Max's daily changing achievements now.

Aw, those pictures of Max on the porch at Texada remind me of my very favorite picture of Little Philip. I'll send it to you!
