Busy Bees

Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T

We have been quite busy this week. Max is readily pulling up and down and even catching himself pretty well when he loses his balance. This has also been his first full week of sitting in his lion chair to eat like a big boy. He's tried carrots, peas, avocado, green beans, bananas, and a fist full of spaghetti noodles (that one by mistake, he was too quick for me!). He LOVES real food- especially whatever Marcus and I have on our own plates.

We had his 6 month checkup today and he is right in the middle percentiles at 17lbs 5oz and 26.5 inches long.  Much like his very first doctor's appointment he was doing all of his tricks for our sweet doctor. Crawling up and down the table. Saying his sounds, "mmmmmmmmma, brrrrrrrrrrp, mmmmmm." Pulling straight up on the mirror against the examining table and squatting back down. Sitting on his knees. Eating the paper on the table. Grabbing the stethoscope. Sucking on his two fingers. He made it through his 4 shots including the H1N1 with a very short cry. I was a little surprised he didn't cry more. The doctor also said that there didn't seem to be any lingering signs of anything being wrong since our ER visit. All good news!

Marcus has been diligently working day in and day out. He started his 7 days off today; I'm so happy for him and we will be heading to Lafayette tomorrow for a little R&R. He was an angel and kept an eye on Max all day today while I got as many paintings finished as I could. I finished 8 and everyone is worn out.

We finished out the day with yummy chicken piccata and warm baths. Max went to bed at 8:30- right on time. I hope Max sleeps well tonight. We are going to let him cry through the night for the first time. The doctor encouraged me that he will be fine to not nurse 3 to 4 times a night. In fact, he will be fine to not nurse at all. Last night I only nursed him around midnight, then again at 2:30am but shut his door and our door so I wouldn't be able to hear him very well, and slept until 7. That may sound like a terrible night, but was really a great night for us. I think I am ready to sleep through the night again myself though. I can hardly remember what a full night of sleep feels like...
