Marcus in Surgery & Thanksgiving Extravaganza

Marcus finally hit the point this year with climbing all the steps to rig floors and playing on the floor with Max that his knee needed another looksy- the pain was just not normal. Marcus and I have been at Christus Schumpert hospital in Shreveport since 6:30am getting ready for his ACL reconstruction surgery today. From all accounts from doctors, nurses, and friends, ACL reconstruction procedure has been revolutionalized since both of us had the surgery in the late 90's. No more three months on crutches and MUCH less pain we've been told. So, I'm anxiously awaiting his return from surgery and going through the next few days to see what sort of year we have ahead of us. Marcus and I both agree that our previous ACL surgeries and rehabs were maybe the hardest physical ordeal we've ever dealt with- I even think that maybe giving birth was possibly easier? Praise God for modern medecine!!! Also, Marcus's mom came up to take care of Max while we are at the hospital and tomorrow. Such a relief and allows me to really focus on taking care of Marcus. Thank God for "Bita!"

Last week, despite two doctors visits (Max and me), two bouts with the stomach bug (Marcus and me), a 7 hr, a 6 hr, and a 3 hr drive...We had a wonderful most memorable Thanksgiving with our family on BOTH sides. My birthday wish came true early and I received my gift of a new camera. Hence, click on the hazy pics below to get a better glimpse of the Moss and Eyrich celebrations.

  2. So is the surgery really better? Eugene is pretty close to having ACL surgery as well.
